There is something so deeply amazing about people who can move like this.

There is something. Some intelligence or awareness that is communicated by his performance. I think it’s a combination of the control, flexibility and timing along with his willingness to move out of the stereotype his kind of dancing often projects. That “effeminate” move that had the woman judge up and clapping, that kind of thing is what makes his performance so strong, so compelling.

I like art like this. It is something like moving meditation, simultaneously silent and thunderingly loud.

His name is Nicklas Milling Pedersen. He has a MySpace page with some video clips but they all seem to be from 2008. I sure hope he keeps dancing.
